Morrisville, NC, June 30, 2010 -- Have you ever looked at a menu and thought, “I could create something better then this!” Well here’s your chance! Peppers Market & Sandwich Shop in the Grace Park shopping center in Morrisville is giving you the opportunity to design and name their next menu item.

“We have a Create-your-Own Sandwich option on our menu, and everyday we see amazing combinations of meats and cheeses and topping, things we’d never thought of before. So when we decided to add a new menu item, we decided to turn to our customers for ideas!” said Peppers owner, Jess Fowler.

Visit Peppers between June 29th and July 8th to participate in the Peppers Cup 2010: The Great Sandwich Showdown. Using the contest entry form, design and name your ideal sandwich. You can choose from any of the ingredients Peppers offers, including their in-house roasted meats, and their custom made sauces.

After the last form has been filled out on July 8th, the Peppers staff will select the Top 10 sandwiches based on taste and originality. Then, starting on July 13th, the Top 10 sandwiches will battle it out for 10 days on a special contest menu to determine the Top 3 bestsellers.

The creators of the Top 3 best-selling sandwiches will be invited as special guests to the Grand Finale on Saturday, July 31st, where a panel of judges will chose which sandwich will win the showdown. The winning sandwich will be added to Peppers menu, and the winning designer will receive a $250.00 in gifts and prizes.

The judges for the final round will be Mayor Jackie Holcombe of Morrisville, Brian Smith, Manager of Grace Park shopping center, Chef Bob “Bobby Buzz” Passarelli, and Registered Nutritionist Chris Newport, owner of Endurance NEWtrition.

Mayor Holcombe is excited to contribute, “This such a fun, unique and tasty way to support a locally-owned Morrisville restaurant and I’m really looking forward to participating.” She also pointed out that the contest is well timed, considering the upcoming launch of Morrisville’s Dine Local program that is being coordinated by the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce.
